Texture Your World ContestTell us the story of your world in textures!
We are surrounded 24 hours a day by objects that have texture, they may be smooth or bobbly, old or new, bold, bright, shiny or dull. You might see a texture every day and never notice it until you start looking. Do you sit at a desk that's textured, or pass an interesting tree on the way to work or school?
We want you, in the form of a triptych (thats 3 images forming a larger image see example here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triptych ) to tell us the story of your textured world. Each individual texture should stand on its own, both as a useful resource and as a cohesive part of the whole story. What story you tell through your texture triptych is up to you - but they must be textures that tell a story of your world in some way.

Hello~ Alive+CONTEST TIME w/Raffle for free art :)so after 5 months of procrastinating, I've decided to actually get this group started.

Thursday: Tree, Olive, Bottle Art Contest!I hope you all had a fantastic Valentine's Day last week! Well done spreading the love to all.

This week, we're continuing the love trend.

We're doing an art creation contest. However, there's a twist -- you must use three pre-determined items in your piece!
We want you to create a deviation including three specific items that revolves around our theme of love:
Your deviation must contain these images:

Tree

Olive

Bottle
How you incorporate these items around the theme of love is up to you!
Of course, you may use more than the objects above, but all three of those objects must appear. Feel free to create whatever inspires you! Maybe someone is creating a model tree with olive-colored leaves in a bottle to give to his love. Or, maybe two olives are sitting in a tree, sipping wine from a bottle. Whatever your mind creates, we want to see it!

Introducing PE week: Getting the Most out of dAThis week marks the first ever Project Educate week on the topic of "Getting the most out of dA"! For this week I collected a small group of experts on the deviantART community and positive contribution. Together we will present you with articles and happenings, to inspire you and give you an overview of how you can contribute to the deviantART community.

First of all: thank you so much for your great entries...it's pretty hard to choose the winners
because you all designed so amazing outfits I like them all a lot ;//u//; ♡
But before I'll let you know which entries won I want to clear some things about
the rules- some ppl considered that one of my rules is unfair because I said I want
to use your design even if you won't score a place...and indeed it sounds a bit rude, doesn't it? ÖnÖ
I'm very sorry if this sounds like I'm a brat which is only collecting your great ideas and doesn't
give you anything in return- fact is: I'm veeeeeery bad in coosing the correct words (and I'm also often afraid of my grammar..especially since this isn't my native language..) so most of the time I end up saying not much ;u;
What I actually meant was that I might choose more than 3 places and I'll want to use

THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED

We have an exciting contest set up for the users of deviantART this time around, with fantastic prizes!

THEME

The theme is to create a groupID for one of the participating groups listed [here]. Submissions should capture what the group is about, for example a portrait of the main characters for a fanclub, or depicting the group's mascot. Submissions need to include the name of the group in the submission image and a link to the group's contest journal in the deviation description.

DEADLINE AND VOTING

Deadline for submissions: Friday, March 15^th, end of day

Voting Period: Sunday, March 17^th through Sunday, March 24^th
Once the contest closes, users who were watching *dAhub prior to the contest closing will be able to vote for the contest winner. Users may vote for their favorite entry and the popular vote will win. In the case of a tie, the first user to the winning number of votes will be the winner. Users must be watching *dAhub before the contest closes for their vote to count, all other votes will be ignored.

ARTIST PRIZE

A one year premium membership awarded to the winning entry. ($30 value)
The winning artist may receive their prize as a gifted one year premium membership or as an equivalent number of points. The winning user may also direct their winnings be given to another user of their choosing.

HOW TO ENTER YOUR ART

Make sure your entry is related to the theme of one of the participating groups: [link]

Submissions should capture the main focus of the group, for example a portrait of the main characters for a fanclub, or depicting the group's mascot. Think of this as creating a "groupID" (similar to a deivantID, but for a group)

Submissions must include the name of the group in the submission image (or in the text for written submissions)

All mediums are accepted (drawn, photography, written, animated, etc)

Submissions must include a link to a participating group's journal in the deviation description in order to qualify. That's the journal where they announce they're part of this contest, and should be titled 'Meta Group Contest'.
FAQ #81: How can I create links to other deviants, deviations, or websites?

The artwork should then be submitted to the Meta Group Contest folder to be qualified to win prizes

Submissions are limited to two per user, per month. Only new artwork (uploaded between January 12^th and March 15^th) will be accepted.

There is no limit on the number of submissions that can come from any one group. A group can have many users submit many entries

Everyone is eligible to submit artwork for any participating group. Group admins may submit art for their own group. You may submit artwork even if you are not a member or watcher of the group.

All submissions must comply with deviantART Terms of Service. All art must be original or use work with permission from the original artists.
